"AMX Programmer I "
 
3 day starter course providing technical staff with an introduction to AMX control system programming using the Touch Panel Designer and NetLinx Studio Software. A basic understanding of AMX hardware and networking is recommended.

This course is designed around you completing a programme for a simple AV presentation room/cinema and includes control by relays, IR, one and two way RS232 control, levels and HTM.

You are required to bring a laptop PC and the minimum specifications are:

  • Laptop PC with a 1.4GHz processor or higher
  • Windows 98SE, Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 6A or higher), Windows 2000 (service pack 3 or higher), Windows XP Professional (service pack 2)
  • 512MB RAM, CD ROM drive, Super VGA or higher end graphics card (with 8MB of video memory) and monitor, RS232 com port (or USB to RS232 adapter)
  • A network connection, either a wired Ethernet 10/100 port or a WiFi (IEEE 802.11b) wireless capability
  • An external mouse is recommended for ease of drawing

You must have Windows Administrator rights to install and run all required system files.

Completion of web based tutorials, Getting Started with AMX Quiz and Intro to Networking for AV Professionals at www.amx.com/training/index_training.asp. Prior programming language is helpful. A working knowledge of other c-like programming languages would be helpful, but is not essential.
