| Why is it so important to use good quality cables | Cable is an important, but often overlooked component in a display system. An enormous amount of money is spent on purchasing computers, projectors, screens, control systems and other equipment, but not much thought goes into the cabling. Cable can be the weakest link in any chain of electronic devices. You may not notice the difference a poor quality cable makes to a Pal video image, but you will notice it when viewing a high resolution image especially when it is displayed on a large screen. An entire system can be adversely affected by the poorly performing cable. To minimise signal loss for the best possible price, it is important to consider applicability, performance and user-friendly characteristics when choosing the appropriate cable. Most A/V systems require at least five conductors, more if audio or other signals need to be routed as well. High-resolution video signals are more sensitive to signal losses and require higher performance cables than do Pal signals. For long cable runs, a low loss cable is more appropriate. Installer-friendly
features, such as flexibility and durability translate into reduced installation
time and effort. Superior flexibility makes a cable less vulnerable to stress
from frequent and fast-paced jobs, such as rental and staging applications. |
