Website Help & Navigation

Browser

This website was written based on Internet Explorer version 5. We have tried to write it to allow for the fact that there are various different browsers and browser versions out there and have tried to keep any fancy stuff to a minimum. However, if you use a different browser or an older version, you may not see all text and images as intended.

Frames

This web site has been designed to use frames. If you have set your browser to the "no frames" option or similar, you will not be able to view this site correctly. Please browse with "Frame" option turned on. (If you don't understand what this means, it is unlikely that you have turned frame browsing off!!)

Images and fancy backgrounds

There may be a few more than before, but we are still limiting the unnecessary use of pictures in order to speed up page loading times. Yes, they do look nice but we felt that you would rather have some useful information than sit and wait for a pretty picture to appear. (They may not take too long to load on your latest whizzy all singing all dancing PC with ISDN connection direct to the web via a great ISP or better still broadband connection, but some people are not so lucky and have to make do with older, slower equipment)

Navigation

We have tried to keep the structure simple - the menu on the left will stay on the left hand site for the duration of your visit and the menu options will remain the same throughout. Any webpages you choose to view will be displayed in the main window to the right of the main menu. Where a page lists other options you can get to by clicking, the chosen item will replace the page you are viewing in the main window. You are never more than two layers down and can therefore either use the "back" button on your browser, or click on the buttons on the main menu to take you to the new page of your choice.

Links and clickable images

In most cases, it should be obvious which images, buttons and text to click on in order to go somewhere else (linked text appears in this colour). If in doubt, move your cursor across the screen and whenever it turns into a little hand, it means there is a clickable link underneath your cursor. Depending on your browser, information about where this link will take you will be displayed, for example in Internet Explorer version 5 it appears at the bottom of your screen, right next to the explorer icon on the left.

Links to manufacturers and their sites

Rather than re-invent the wheel, we have given you links to information hot off the press on our supplier's own websites. This will also enable you to view and print off product specifications etc.

Updated Pages/
Screen Refresh

Depending on how your system is set up, you may not always see the new version of pages we have updated. Browsers usually hold previously accessed pages in a cache and may load them from there rather than retrieving new versions which may have updated information. In order to ensure you are always viewing the latest version of a page, click CTRL + F5.
